Abstract
Additive manufacturing technology, with its personalized design and complex macro/micro structure control, has brought new opportunities for the preparation of bone repair scaffolds. In this study, bone repair materials suitable for additive manufacturing were developed, and the effects of material properties and printing parameters on the dimensional accuracy and mechanical performance of the scaffolds were investigated. Scaffolds capable of meeting the mechanical requirements of various human bone tissues were fabricated, achieving the precise, customized manufacturing of bone repair scaffolds. The performance of scaffolds with different surface structures was evaluated through in vitro cell co-culture and in vivo animal bone repair experiments. The in vitro results demonstrated that the scaffolds significantly promoted the expression of osteogenesis-related genes and proteins, exhibiting excellent properties regarding cell adhesion, proliferation, and osteogenic differentiation. The in vivo results showed that the scaffolds provided adequate mechanical support, growth space, and osteogenic stimulation for bone tissue regeneration, effectively promoting the regeneration and ingrowth of new bone tissue. This research establishes a solid experimental and theoretical foundation for the study of bone repair scaffolds and holds significant implications for advancing the clinical application of bone tissue engineering.
